Arizona woman advertises massive party at Airbnb rental for thousands of guests. What the host does next wipes the smile off her face

Airbnb listings aren’t exactly party venues.

An Airbnb owner in Arizona just dealt with what could have been a total nightmare. He found out one of his guests was planning to throw a huge New Year’s party at his rental property. The whole thing blew up on TikTok and got people talking about why Airbnb banned parties in the first place.

According to Bro Bible, Rob Abasolo, who uses the name @robuilto on TikTok, made a video that got more than 3.8 million views. He responded to another TikTok user called Sunshine who was telling everyone about a massive party she was hosting. The problem was that the party was supposed to happen at Abasolo’s house. Sunshine has since deleted her original video, but Abasolo’s reaction shows what she said.

Sunshine made a video inviting people from all over Arizona to her party. “Attention Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tucson – all of Arizona actually, I’m throwing one of the biggest New Year’s parties ever,” she said. That’s when Abasolo jumped in with his own response. “Hi. Yeah, that’s actually my house. I’m your Airbnb host, and I’ve got some bad news – um, that it’s not gonna happen,” he told viewers.

This whole situation could have been avoided so easily

Abasolo spent time in his video calling out things Sunshine lied about. She told people she dropped $10,000 to rent the place, but Abasolo had proof she only paid around $6,000. She also said the host told her it was fine to have a party there. Abasolo showed that never happened.

Things got worse when Sunshine said about 2,000 people were coming to this party. That’s when Abasolo really let her have it. “You are the reason that people hate me and the hosting community – why my neighbors hate me, and why the hotel industry loves you, because you give Airbnb and us a bad name,” he said. He told viewers the party would have destroyed his property and cost him way more than $10,000 to fix. He also pointed out she was going to let teenagers drink alcohol at his house.

At the end of his video, Abasolo showed himself canceling her booking right there on camera. He used her own party announcement video as his reason for kicking her out. Later on Instagram, Abasolo said he got Sunshine banned from using Airbnb completely. Users should read the terms and conditions to avoid getting banned or paying extra fees on the platform

People had all kinds of reactions in the comments on Abasolo’s video. One person wrote, “Reading her comments and she’s still on der the assumption it’s happening.” Someone else said, “I didn’t know X parties were still a thing.”

Sunshine made her own video after Abasolo’s went viral. She said people were sending her death threats and threatening to mess up her party. “I was just a girl trying to have fun, and is that wrong?” she asked in the video. The idea was to sell this as a terrible Airbnb experience, but the social media reaction was mostly against her.

She said she contacted Abasolo about the threats and he felt bad for her, but he kept posting about what happened anyway. Even with everything going on, Sunshine said she wasn’t giving up on the party. “The party is canceled on his end. It’s not canceled on my end,” she said. “We’re still going to do this.” She finished by saying she was sending Abasolo a cease and desist letter.
