Meteorite crashes into backyard and starts oozing black substance. Then it triggered a nightmare-like chain of events

He locked it in a safe, but that didn't stop it from changing.

A man from Panama has gotten millions of people talking after he posted videos of what he says is a meteorite that fell in his backyard. The TikTok user, who goes by @kinpanama, shared his first video on August 29 from his home in Pedregal, a town close to Panama City. In the video, he showed a silver rock and said it was a visitor from space. He told his followers it was the first time a meteorite had ever been found in Panama.

But things got weird fast. The man said that within three days, the rock started changing, as per The Economic Times. A green and yellow jelly-like stuff began coming out of it. This goo got darker as time went on until the whole rock was covered in black, sticky material. He said the thing also started to smell like something was burning, and the smell got worse every day. The man tried to get help from local colleges to study it, but he said no one came to look at it.

His videos blew up online. People said the black stuff with tentacles looked just like Venom from the Marvel movies. The way it changed looked straight out of a horror movie, with the black goo seeming to move and stretch in his clips. He posted videos of it sitting in a locked safe, and later showed it swimming in water after he let it out. People started calling it “Venomkin” and the videos got more than tens of millions of views.

Scientists say it’s probably just a fungus, not an alien

A lot of scientists think they know what this really is. People who study plants and fungi say it looks like something called Devil’s Fingers, which is also known as Octopus Stinkhorn. This type of fungus starts out looking like a white egg or small rock.

When it grows up, it breaks open and black arms that look like tentacles come out. It also smells really bad on purpose because that smell brings bugs that help it spread. Even though it started in Australia, this fungus can show up anywhere if it gets moved around in dirt or wood.

But a lot of people think the whole thing is fake. There are parts of the story that don’t add up. A science YouTube channel called BiologiaDesdeCero noticed that the man deleted some of his first videos after they went viral.

They also saw strange things in his clips, like what looked like regular matches at the spot where he said the meteorite crashed. Some people think he might have painted a potato silver and used rubber pieces and hidden wires to make it look like it was moving.

The man keeps posting new videos anyway. Some news reports say his real name is Kevin and he works at the Panama Airport. He even wrote and sold a book about what happened, which makes people think this might all be a way to get attention or sell stuff.

No one from the government or any school in Panama has said anything official about it. People online are still arguing about whether it’s real or fake, and millions keep watching to see what happens next in this strange story.
