While it’s admittedly been less that a year since the last big Pokémon release, I’d still love to see a brand new Pokémon title announced at E3. It’s been almost two years since the last ‘new’ version became the first 3DS generation of the game, and I think there are two ways that a new Pokémon title could appear at E3.

Firstly, and least excitingly, there could simply be the announcement of a third instalment to Generation Six; Pokémon Z. This could work nicely, as the Kalos region was certainly large enough to find more entertainment there. So long as the story was advanced enough around the legendary Zygarde, this would be a viable option within certain limits.

The second, and perhaps most optimistic possibility, would be for Generation Seven to be revealed during Nintendo’s conference this year. This is obviously unlikely, but the gaps between main series releases have been shortening since Generation Four, and we can all dream, can’t we? I’d love to have a new generation of Pokémon games to get excited about and, like most fans, have an almost infinite list of features and advancements I’d love to see. Rather than bore you, however, I’ll offer just a few…

Although Pokémon X & Y did offer players some appearance customisation for their budding Masters, I’ve always wanted a detailed RPG-style character creation to really take players into the action. Add to this a tournament style Pokémon League like the one in the TV series, and the opportunity to take on weekly challengers as the Champion and I’ll be purring like a Meowth…

Oh, and did I mention this new game would be a console version for the Wii U? Tell me that’s not the Pokémon title you’ve been waiting for?!
