The Force has awoken at DICE and EA. Having gained unprecedented access to the beloved vaults of Lucasfilm, both companies are attempting to create a Star Wars experience like no other with Battlefront, boasting incredible authenticity and a tangible sense of respect to the adorned, original trilogy. Due out later this year, the project will naturally dovetail with the realise of J.J. Abrams’ hotly-anticipated sequel.

Although, Disney’s master plan for its newly-acquired cash cow stretches far beyond The Force Awakens. By the same token, EA has another lesser-known property in the works at Visceral Games. Since it entered development in 2013, the Dead Space dev has been radio silent. All we know at this point is that it brings together much of the Uncharted alum in voice actor Nolan North the illustrious Amy Hennig.

What kind of game we can expect, though, is anyone’s guess. Visceral has referenced Rocksteady’s Arkham series as a touching point, leading us to believe that it could be a third-person actioner of some kind staring franchise stalwarts such as Han Solo and Chewbacca. It’ll likely be worlds away from DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront, and that’s okay. That galaxy far, far away is an awful big place, after all.
