Say what you will about the Far Cry series, but there’s no denying that it has its own identity. The vacation from Hell storylines that permeate throughout it are each unique and interesting, and the locations it’s taken us to have always been fun to explore. In fact, two of the most entertaining and visceral open worlds I’ve ever ventured through happen to be Far Cry 2‘s Africa and the exotic beaches of Far Cry 3.

Although it’s surely a lot of work to remaster more than one game, getting updated versions of the first three Far Cry titles would be a great thing. I didn’t have a computer capable of playing through the first entry, so I’ve still yet to play it outside of its expansion on the original Xbox. And, as mentioned above, Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3 are personal favourites and exist as two of my most beloved games from the last generation of consoles.

If just one of these games could be updated and rereleased, I’d be happy. After playing through Far Cry 4 (which was my favourite game of 2016) and recently almost 100%-ing Far Cry Primal, I’m itching for another bullet-filled vacation. A new game would be great, but a remaster would fit me just fine for now. Hell, I can just imagine how beautiful visually enhanced versions of Far Cry 2 or 3 would be.
