Developed by the Chile-based ACE Team (Zeno Clash, Rock of Ages), Abyss Odyssey is a cross between a side-scrolling platformer and roguelike gameplay which boasts a relatively complex combat system, as well as procedurally generated levels so your experience is never the same.

Acting as the remastered and improved edition, Extended Dream Edition will feature upgraded 1080p graphics along with all of the tweaks and balance updates that have been rolled out for the PC release over the past year. The re-release will come packed with two new multiplayer modes as well, as players can now engage in 1v1 online fights and 4-player local battles. An additional bonus will see Golem from Zeno Clash join the game as a new mini-boss.

We took a look at the original release back when it launched and suffice to say, we were not particularly impressed. We felt that the movement and fighting were clunky and simply not fun enough to be worth taking the time to play. If you want to read the full review, you can check it out right here.

With that said, though, Extended Dream Edition has my attention. I still think a fighting/platforming/rogue-like game can work, and with all of the improvements made to the title since release, hopefully things turn out better on the new console. If nothing else, the unique aesthetic of the game should look even better now that it is on a current-gen console.
