Amazon France is at it again. Only a few weeks ago, the outlet leaked the due date for Crystal Dynamics’ PC port of Rise of the Tomb Raider and now, it’s Bethesda’s blood-drenched DOOM reboot that has been inadvertently thrust into the limelight.

Though we understand that the studio’s shooter is primed to launch in the early stages of 2016, according to a now-pulled listing posted by Amazon France, DOOM will roar to life on June 30. What leads us to believe that this date could be accurate is the retailer’s track record when it comes to revealing release dates ahead of schedule; be it Forza Motorsport 6 or more recently Rise of the Tomb Raider‘s PC version, Amazon France has been bang on target in the past.

Then again, until we hear official word from Bethesda, treat this tidbit with a grain of salt. Indeed, DOOM is riding the crest of a wave of goodwill following a series of alpha tests that were hosted in late December, with a multiplayer beta pegged for a release in spring 2016 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and we expect to hear more information about its arrival vey soon indeed.

But what do you think of this purported release date? Late June is a relatively quiet corridor for blockbusters, and Bethesda may be eyeing a similar spot for DOOM that Batman: Arkham Knight occupied during the same period last year. One way or the other, we’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
