The U.S. arm of online retailer Amazon seems to have jumped the gun on Square Enix’s big PAX East announcement this morning, by posting a Wii U listing for Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut.

According to the Amazon listing, which Square Enix has neither confirmed or denied, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut will cost $49.99 and be released on May 7, 2013. The game seems to include everything in the original 2011 action-RPG, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, plus the following new additions and features:

  • Ultimate Deus Ex: Human Revolution experience : take advantage of a multitude of improvements, features and additional content that bring this already critically-acclaimed adventure towhole new levels
  • Tap into the Wii U?s GamePad true potential: Adam Jensen?s newest augmentation, the Neural Hub, offers an immersive and empowering experience, right at the tips of your fingers

Assuming the online listing for Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut is correct (and it most likely is, because the folks at Amazon have far more important things to do than to make up fake listings and box art), the news of the Wii U port is hardly a surprise at this point.

Last October, developer Straight Right’s technical project manager, Chris Slater, was kind enough to mentioned on his resume that he was “working for Straight Right on a short term contract, porting a triple-A Square Enix game to the yet-to-be-released Wii U platform.” The blurb was removed shortly after it was discovered, but lived on thanks to the internet magic of Google’s cache.

Following that slip, the Australian Classification Board posted a re-rating for a “modified” version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution earlier this month. Considering Straight Right is based in Australia, it stands to reason that they are the developer behind today’s Amazon listing for Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut.

Square Enix has their big PAX East Wii U reveal scheduled for sometime between March 22nd and the 24th, it is a good bet to expect that we will hear about Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut at that time. As soon as the publisher makes it official we will let you know.
