Platinum Games sure has a lot on their plate. In an announcement made today by SEGA, it seems that Metal Gear Rising may not be Platinum‘s biggest release after all, even if we have to wait slightly longer to find out.

A delay was announced today for Platinum‘s Anarchy Reigns, a unique and over-the-top return to the beat ’em up genre of old. The game has moved back from it’s intended January 2012 release window to July 3, 2012 in North America.

The news isn’t all bad, however. Senior Vice President of Marketing Gary Knight gave us the following:

I can’t reveal much right now. Let’s just say traditional one vs. one or two vs. two fighters will be a thing of the past…

Yeah, THAT got you excited, didn’t it?

Anarchy Reigns will release on Xbox 360 and PS3.

What say you, gamers? Am I the only one with fingers crossed for a Raiden cameo?
