Microsoft’s own Major Nelson – aka Larry Hryb – has taken to his official blog a little earlier than usual to unveil the software that Xbox owners can expect in July’s Games With Gold offerings.

To celebrate the service’s two-year anniversary, Hryb confirmed the Games with Gold will begin offering two new Xbox One games every month to subscribers, beginning with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and cutesy platformer So Many Me. Much like previous promotions, it is Ubisoft’s sequel that will kick off July’s deals, and it’s understood that the pirate-themed actioner will be available to download throughout the entire month beginning Wednesday, July 1.

As for the aforementioned puzzler, So Many Me will make its debut on the Games with Gold service on July 16. By the same token, beloved strategy title Plants Vs. Zombies will march onto Xbox’s digital platform on July 1 where it will be available to download free of charge until July 15. At that point, the bonkers title will be replaced by Epic Games’ Gears of War 3 on Xbox 360.

It’s been a long time coming but finally – finally! – Microsoft has swapped out Pool Nation FX, which has occupied a spot on the Xbox One roster for three consecutive months before So Many Me was unveiled. All in all, it’s a strong line-up for the month of July, with each of Microsoft’s systems enjoying a blockbuster heavy-hitter and an acclaimed indie simultaneously.
