From the looks of things, our new lead turns to the dark side after being forced to do something he immediately regrets. The turning point seems to come after he burns a village down, and kills its residents – something that is hinted at during the middle portion of this trailer. There’s surely more to it than that, but we’ll likely have to wait until mid-November before we learn anything else.

For a good description as to exactly what you’ll see in this video, check out the following blurb, which we took from the video’s YouTube description:

In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, you’ll learn the dark secret that led Shay to betray the Brotherhood and follow the darker path of the Templar Order. From the streets of New York to the thrilling naval combat and exploration in the perilous Arctic, Shay will chase down new foes, and even a few familiar faces. Watch as he follows his own creed to hunt down every last Assassin he can, to end the Brotherhood once and for all!

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will sail to badass-looking icebergs on November 11, via Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version will follow in early 2015.
