GameInformer has just made fans of the cape and cowl extremely happy by officially revealing Rocksteady’s upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight video game. This will mark the studio’s final entry in the mega-successful Arkham franchise, and they are certainly planning to end the Dark Knight’s journey with a bang.

Set after the events of Arkham City, Arkham Knight will task players with chasing down villains like Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and more. Most importantly, Batman will finally have access to the iconic Batmobile. This means that Gotham City has been opened up to compliment the new driving gameplay, as well as Batman’s newly-refined and more efficient rooftop traversal mechanics. While it hasn’t been revealed exactly how large the map will be, players can expect something much larger than Arkham City‘s detailed slice of Gotham.

Sefton Hill, Game Director at Rocksteady Studios, commented on their excitement for the final entry in the series.

“We’re excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman’s abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City.”

Batman: Arkham Knight will release later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Be sure to check out the game’s official reveal trailer below, as it definitely builds up the hype for Batman’s final adventure in the Arkham franchise. Then, take a moment to swoop down into the comments section and give us your first impressions. Of course, I only expect you to be able to do so if your body hasn’t completely shut down from an overload of pure Batman badassery.
