Obviously we won’t know exactly what Warner Bros. has planned for the caped crusader just yet, but that won’t stop us from hypothesizing about it. Arguably the most likely announcement would be the next story DLC for the recently released Batman: Arkham Origins. We got the ‘Initiation’ story earlier this month and since we were already promised additional content, it would make sense that it would be revealed relatively soon.

A slightly more intriguing announcement could be a port of Arkham Origins coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As is typical of the time period where two generations of consoles intersect, there tends to be a variety of ports. Titles such as Call of Duty: Ghosts and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag have already made the jump and Tomb Raider, which was released back in March for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, will receive a next-gen edition in 2014. So it wouldn’t be the strangest thing to see Batman: Arkham Origins show up on the new consoles.

Of course, what everyone probably wants is the announcement of an entirely new Batman game developed by Rocksteady Studios. The company has been working on something since the release of Arkham City back in 2011 and rumors of a new title have been floating around for awhile.

We will be sure to update you on whatever Warner Bros. announces on December 31st. For now though, tell us, what do you think this Batman related announcement could be? Let us know in the comments section below.
