Arkham: Knight’s challenge maps have so far been based around the basic combat and predator modes, many of them set in and around locations featured on the main map. A few have been more imaginative, however, such as the 60’s Batmobile maps and surreal mini-adventures that take the player through recreations of the TV show sets that Adam West and Burt Ward once juggled bombs through.

The idea of additional and equally audacious challenge maps could breathe even more fresh life into abandoned concepts though, such as the long rumored Victorian era Gotham By Gaslight. There are so many others to choose from that would grab the attention of fans as well.

Batman’s 18th century counterpart Leatherwing could be shown defending his ship from Blackbeard’s pirates. A tomahawk wielding Bruce Wayne could brawl with drunken cowboys in 19th century Gotham City. Possibly the most visually interesting could be a map inspired by the Gotham City featured in the first ever Batman comics from 1939. The Batman of Zur En Arrh skin available on WB Play could be given an equally insane map to match it, too.

The idea would be to keep us guessing what’s next, and then go beyond our expectations, with the emphasis purely on having fun.
