Children of Arkham is the second installment of Batman: The Telltale Series, and it’ll swoop onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 20. For those holding out for the episode on other platforms – namely Android, iOS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Mac – Telltale has vowed to detail additional release plans later this month.

News emerges on the eve of PAX West getting underway, where the studio is set to host the first public demonstration of its novel Crowd Play feature. Taking place on September 3 at 8:30 p.m. in the Wyvern Theatre, those in attendance will be able to direct the on-screen action via their mobile devices. It’s a cool addition to the Telltale universe and one that will no doubt help integrate some social elements into the narrative-driven experience – just don’t expect Crowd Play to become compatible with Twitch anytime soon.

Telltale’s episodic spin on the World’s Greatest Detective will also enjoy a retail release on September 13 (September 16 in Europe) when Realm of Shadows will be included on-disc. Expect the remaining four episodes to roll out as digital downloads as they become available.

So, there you have it: The Dark Knight returns on September 20 with Children of Arkham and fans can expect the first trailer to glide online as that release date draws near. For more on Batman: The Telltale Series, have a gander at our review of the pilot episode, Realm of Shadows.
