Not to be outdone by its main competitor, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 has released a brand new trailer today that attempts to highlight the game’s story, which is clearly the title’s most promising feature, right?

Featuring footage taken entirely from the single player campaign, this newest trailer fleshes out some of the characters and hopes to give us an idea of the emotional, engaging and compelling story that the team has put together. Or not.

Who are we kidding, no one plays a Battlefield title for its plot and we all know that the characters and story the game presents to us will be nothing more than throwaway components to stage large scale destruction around. I mean, for a “story” trailer, the footage is pretty explosion and action heavy, ensuring us that Battlefield 4 will be exactly the game that we are hoping it to be.

Oh, and a dog also gets punched in the face in the trailer, which is a nice little jab at Call of Duty: Ghosts. Well done EA, well done.

Take a look at the new “story” trailer below and let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking up Battlefield 4 when it launches on October 29th for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3. The next-gen versions will launch with the PS4 and Xbox One, respectively.
