A New Bug Pokémon From Sword And Shield Has Leaked

A new bug Pokémon from the upcoming Sword and Shield games has leaked online, and it looks like this one is definitely legit.

Grookey! Scorbunny! Sobble! The UK-inspired region of Galar! Yes, there’s a ton of exciting stuff coming to the world of Pokémon, after Nintendo and Game Freak announced Sword and Shield last month, the eighth generation of those adorable pocket monsters.

Set to hit store shelves later this year, Pokémon Sword and Shield are full of new critters to collect and dungeons to explore, and you’ll be pleased to know that, while Nintendo is yet to reveal an exact launch date, both Sword and Shield are already available to pre-order.

What the Big N also hasn’t announced though is all the new Pokémon that we’ll be meeting, and though the game’s first trailer did reveal a good number of them, there are still a ton that are being kept under wraps. When we’ll get to see them all, we can’t say, but a couple have already leaked online and the latest one can be seen in the gallery down below.

As you can see, this bug Pokémon sports dragonfly-like wings and six legs and also appears to look a bit sad. Though no name has been given to it just yet, we’re inclined to believe this leak is real as the photo above was taken from a video (which has since been removed) that showed the creature fully animated, hovering around the screen. Not only that, but the clip was set in one of the environments we saw in the Sword and Shield trailer.

With all that in mind, we’re going to classify this one as genuine for now, but either way, we should know soon enough, as once Detective Pikachu has had its time in the sun, and Niantic’s Pokémon Go receives another update or two, Nintendo will turn its attention towards Pokémon Sword and Shield, and we simply can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
