Call of Duty: Ghosts will be delivering fans new content with the upcoming Devastation DLC, which is set for release on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 3. It will bring four new maps, the Ripper tactical rifle and a brand new chapter in the Extinction saga.

Devastation’s additional maps take place across a variety of small to medium ranged environments that deliver a diverse offering of killstreaks. Ruins will drop players in the middle of a Mayan temple with the potential to trigger a volcanic eruption that decimates your enemies. Behemoth takes players high above the earth onto an earth excavator and Collision will force you to face off against your enemies on a ship container that has collided with a bridge, which should give you some much needed run-and-gun gameplay. Finally, Dome has been re-imagined from Modern Warfare 3 and holds a few secrets that I’d rather not spoil for you.

The new hybrid weapon, the Ripper, will allow players to switch between a rapid fire sub machine-gun and assault rifle at will. In order to help tide you over until April, the weapon has already been made available for all Xbox One and Xbox 360 season pass holders.

Aside from the new maps and weapon, fans of co-operative gameplay will certainly find a lot to like here with Mayday, the next instalment of Extinction, as it forces players to test their merit against a 100-foot tall alien boss known as the Kraken.

In other Call of Duty: Ghosts news, the game will be receiving a playable multiplayer demo that will start today and run until March 10th. Don’t expect full access to all of the maps and modes, but it has been confirmed that you will be able to enjoy Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Rescue, and Extinction’s original game mode, Point of Contact.

Check out the trailer for Devastation below and let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking up the new DLC.
