Following the leak yesterday of what appeared to be a trophy list for a PlayStation 4 remaster of the original Dead Rising, Capcom has confirmed that a current-gen re-release does in fact exist, and that it’s coming to Xbox One and PC in addition to Sony’s console.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, however; Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record are also getting the remaster treatment for all the aforementioned platforms, so it won’t just be Frank West’s first encounter with the zombie horde that you’ll be reliving.

Confirming the news to VideoGamer.com, a Capcom spokesperson said: “Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In addition, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will make their way onto Xbox One and PS4. We will have more news to share soon.”

The publisher makes no mention of when fans can expect to see the – presumably digital-only – remasters drop, but we imagine they’ll want to get all of them out before Dead Rising 4 is unleashed upon the world around Christmas time. It’s also unclear as to how extensive the upgrades being made to each title will be, but given Capcom’s past record with the likes of the Resident Evil HD Remaster, we’ve got high hopes indeed.
