Pressure appears to be mounting on Sony this week, as another developer has come forward to say they’d like to see their game have cross-platform play between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Witcher developer CD Projekt has told IGN that they would “love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play,” alongside the Xbox One and PC for upcoming spinoff title Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, with the studio’s CEO Marcin Iwiński stating that: “We are keeping our fingers crossed for Rocket League paving the way.”

The comments come just a day after Psyonix VP Jeremy Dunham said that, assuming Sony were to give the go-ahead, they could have a cross-platform service up and running in “less than a business day” for their own Rocket League.

It seems that CD Projekt are just as ready to go at a moment’s notice as Psyonix as well, with Iwiński adding:

Our upcoming Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will launch in closed beta for PC and Xbox One later this year, and Microsoft already confirmed Gwent’s cross-play feature not only between Xbox One and PC, but also other consoles if they allow it.

We also do have a technical solution in place for PS4 and would love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play at the start of open beta. All we need is a green light from Sony.

Of course, Sony has still yet to make an official comment on the matter, so whether or not cross-platform play between the Xbox One and PS4 will become a reality is a question that remains painfully unanswered.

The closed beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card game begins in September.
