Taking place long after the original events of the franchise, players are once again reunited with King Graham. Now a very old man, the king is telling the events of his life and tales of his amazing adventures with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn. Although this version of King’s Quest will feature some of the same storylines of the original, things will be quite this different this time around.

In the trailer, which can be seen above, we see a young Graham explore the depths of a cave, venture through lush woods and square off against several imposing foes. Judging by this early footage, however, it appears that King’s Quest will not retain the point-and-click gameplay style of the original titles in the series. Instead, it appears to be more of a basic platformer, which is just fine by me.

We hope to have more information on King’s Quest to bring you in the coming months. For now, though, why not take a look at the debut trailer above and let us know what you think of the upcoming reboot.
