Koei Tecmo has announced that Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will launch on both current and last generation consoles in 2015. The news was revealed during the Japan Gamer’s Live event that took place this past weekend.

An update to the 2012-released Dead or Alive 5, Last Round is once again being developed by the crew at Team Ninja. In addition to all of the previously included content, this update will also feature new fighters and over 300 open and unlockable outfits. Yosuke Hayashi, Team Ninja leader, offered a brief statement as to why this update will be the best iteration of the title yet.

“DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round marks an exciting step forward for the franchise, and one that fans have been asking for. Bringing the game to a new generation of consoles is allowing us to create the most graphically striking version of any Dead or Alive game ever, and we are very happy to give our fans the chance to experience our signature high energy fighting entertainment as only the latest consoles can deliver it.”

While we don’t know exactly when Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will be released, outside of a vague spring 2015 window, Koei Tecmo has revealed what it will cost on both generations of consoles. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will have to shell out $40 in order to get their hands on the brawler, which will be available as both a physical copy and digital download. Things will be slightly cheaper on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as the title will only carry a cost of $29.99, but will also only be available as a digital download.

We will continue to bring you the latest news on Dead or Alive 5: Last Round when Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja are ready to talk, so stay tuned!
