Dead Space Save File Unlocks Plasma Cutter For Dead Space 2

Here's a sweet bonus for fans of the series. If you have a save file, completed or not, from the first Dead Space, you'll unlock the original Plasma Cutter right from the beginning. However, any upgrades you may have purchased in the first game will not carry over to the sequel as to not upset the campaign's balance.

Here’s a sweet bonus for fans of the series. If you have a save file, completed or not, from the first Dead Space, you’ll unlock the original Plasma Cutter right from the beginning. However, any upgrades you may have purchased in the first game will not carry over to the sequel as to not upset the campaign’s balance.

Completionists should be very familiar with this weapon as there was an achievement in the first game where you had to beat the campaign using only the Plasma Cutter. Conveniently, it was also one of the most useful and versatile weapons of the first game so no complaints there.

Dead Space 2 releases releases on January 25th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The demo is already available for Xbox 360 and PS3.
