The Destiny 2 beta has officially ended and players are left with some indelible impressions about what they saw, what they played, and where the franchise is going.

The beta lasted a week for those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and for four days in an open beta for everyone else. It was so popular that Bungie had to extend it a few days, from Sunday to Tuesday, as the information the developer was receiving was invaluable. So much so, that tweaks and patches were made during the actual beta, which was a very telling sign that Bungie has big plans for this much-anticipated sequel.

Of course, Destiny 2 features an all new story, and the beta provided the first mission of that story to all who played it. The mission, which essentially features the fall of the Tower on Earth at the hands of the Red Legion and their merciless leader, Ghaul, flexed some graphical muscle, to say the least.

The beta also highlighted the smooth gameplay that Destiny players have come to love since 2014, with new weapons and some killer new subclasses to the now-classic Hunter, Titan and Warlock classes. How did it all turn out, though? Read on for our impressions and see what we thought of our first taste of Destiny 2.
