Devolver Digital has announced that Deconstructeam’s point-and-click title, Gods Will Be Watching, will be released on July 24. The crowd-funded thriller will be available on Windows, Mac and Linux through either Steam, Humble or GOG.com.

Gods Will Be Watching centers around Sgt. Burdern and his space crew as they solve difficult puzzles and handle tough decisions over six different chapters. Scenarios include tense hostage negotiations, biological weapon prevention, brutal scenes of torture and harsh wilderness survival. Painstaking choices will have to be made, but it’s up to you to decide what’s more important: the crew or the mission?

With over 1,500 beautifully designed sprites and 15 stunning backgrounds, Gods Will Be Watching certainly has an intriguing look if nothing else. The title will also feature an “emotionally stirring orchestral soundtrack,” which I’m sure will only make deciding these stress inducing decisions even more agonizing.

Early buzz about Gods Will Be Watching has been extremely positive, so I’m interested in getting my hands on Deconstructeam’s latest effort. The sprite based artwork looks wonderful and its brutal interstellar storyline has me intrigued. Then again, I’m interested in any title that even offers a modicum of harsh decision making, so I’m a little biased here.

Gods Will Be Watching will be available for download starting July 24 in either standard or collector’s edition flavor. The standard edition will run you $9.99 and the collector’s edition will cost $19.99, but will also include the soundtrack, a digital art book and a comic.
