A Dino Crisis Mod For Resident Evil 2 Remake Has Already Surfaced

It didn’t take long after the release of Resident Evil 2‘s remake for fans to demand Capcom do likewise for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. In fact, some are already looking far ahead enough to dream of a CODE: Veronica re-imagining – or even another survival horror series from the days of the original Playstation put out by the same publisher.

We are, of course, talking about Dino Crisis.

For those unfamiliar, this was a game that spawned two sequels and a spinoff (Dino Stalker) before fading away. Released on Playstation in 1999, it was actually also created by Resident Evil‘s daddy, Shinji Mikami. But instead of blasting away at zombies, players were instead placed into the most violent version of Jurassic Park imaginable.

Now, thanks to some tech savvy wizards, a Dino Crisis mod for the Resident Evil 2 remake is already a thing. Seen in the video below, Claire Redfield has been made over as Regina, just as Leon Kennedy now bears resemblance to Dylan. Sherry, meanwhile, has apparently picked up a new vest from Hot Topic. And if that weren’t enough, new weapons were added as well!

If anything, this’ll add fuel to the fire when it comes to those wishing for a Dino Crisis revival. To be completely honest, I’m fine with such a scenario becoming reality – but only after I’m given my RE 3 remake, dammit.

Actually, Capcom could get two separate development teams going on these projects and then release them closely together just as they did back in the day. For those old enough to remember, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Dino Crisis originally shipped with playable demo discs for the other game, and something similar could be hatched this time around. In fact, one of Jill’s alternate costumes in RE 3‘s was that of Regina’s, so the synergy was quite strong.
