Through press release means, Ubisoft has announced that Trials Evolution should receive its first major downloadable content pack by the end of September.

Aptly titled Origin of Pain, the digital add-on will take players on a trip to Paine Island, where thirty-six new tracks will be available for mastering. Their themes will, according to the release, include “lost temples, a haunted circus, deserted beaches and a menacing volcano.”

In order to justify the download’s 400 Microsoft Point ($5) price tag, the publisher has also confirmed that ten additional multiplayer tracks will be included, along with a brand new BMX dirtbike, which will be coupled with tailored tracks and a unique special event.

However, that’s not all. In fact, the game’s level editor will also be receiving an upgrade, which will allow it to offer “teleporting, gun firing, switch filters and vector math.”

Trials Evolution – Origin of Pain Bringing It to Xbox LIVE Arcade®

MONTRÉAL – September 6, 2012 – Today, Ubisoft® and RedLynx announced Trials Evolution – Origin of Pain, the first downloadable content (DLC) for the wildly popular Xbox LIVE® Arcade game, Trials Evolution. The DLC is expected near the end of September and should be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points.

The Origin of Pain DLC builds on the successes of Trials Evolution, offering tons of new editor objects, 36 brand new tracks, and a brand new BMX bike, the first time a bike mode has ever been offered in a Trials game.

Critically acclaimed and one of the fastest-selling XBLA games of all time, Trials Evolution features multiplayer competition, single player challenge, and user-generated content for almost endless gaming possibilities. To date, more than 160,000 Player-created tracks have been made available through its in-game content sharing system. Origin of Pain will only add to the possibilities of what players can build with the game.
