Those like us, who’ve been looking forward to enlisting into The Division, will have to wait a while before doing so. Thanks to Ubisoft’s investors call, we now know to expect the massively multiplayer shooter sometime around the end of 2014. The calendar year, that is…not the fiscal year, which is quite different.

“We can expect it will be closer to the end of the year than the beginning,” said Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot.

Joystiq went on further, in order to mention that the publisher’s strategy for gaming’s next console generation (of which The Division will be a part of) will feature more of a focus on open world games that offer multiplayer components.

What do you think of this news? Are you OK with it? Or are you disappointed?

If you ask me, this isn’t a big deal. We’ve had to wait a while for many a game in the past, and time is an important thing when it comes to digital development. I want Ubisoft to take its time with the game, like it seems to be doing, so that the final product will launch with a high amount of quality and a tiny amount of bugs. It does look great, but the wait should end up being worthwhile.
