Earth Defense Force 4 Headed West, Renamed Earth Defense Force 2025

D3 Publisher of America has confirmed that Earth Defense Force 4 -- which was first announced in Japan last July -- will be released in North America under the title Earth Defense Force 2025, with Namco Bandai handling localization duties for the European market.

D3 Publisher of America has confirmed that Earth Defense Force 4 — which was first announced in Japan last July — will be released in North America under the title Earth Defense Force 2025, with Namco Bandai handling localization duties for the European market.

For those not familiar with the EDF series, the upcoming title will have players continue the fight against an invading alien force of giant insects that are hell-bent on putting an end to the human race (if you are thinking Starship Troopers, you are not far off). D3 Publsiher is promising “tons of missions” for EDF 2025 and is throwing in a four-player multiplayer mode, which is a first for the franchise on home consoles.

Earth Defense Force 2025 is scheduled to launch in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out the game’s first screenshots in the gallery below.
