Execution Stats Reveal Mirage As Apex Legends’ Biggest Troll

Executions are a divisive topic among Apex Legends' community. Due to the fast-paced nature of Respawn Entertainment's battle royale, securing a kill in Kings Canyon can, at the best of times, be excruciatingly difficult. Not only will your prey often have teammates nearby preparing for an ambush, but a downed opponent, should the terrain afford it, can often crawl behind cover to force a more intimate kill.

For those and a plethora of other reasons, experienced players often opt not to use their chosen character’s execution to minimize risk. Though glorious as they are, in terms of cinematic quality, committing to finishing your enemy with finesse will often result in unnecessary exposure to death, not least because you’re locked in place until the animation finishes. That being the case, executions are largely reserved for when safety is assured or, as players at large consider them, the result of trolls wanting to laud their own victory over the fallen.

With that in mind, it comes as little surprise that the overall occurrence rate of executions is on the lower end of the spectrum, but that hasn’t stopped data-tracking site, Play-Apex, from crunching the numbers on which character is the troll’s favourite, so to speak. As a perfect reflection of his own cocky personality, Mirage is the combatant to come out on top, with Wraith coming in a close second and, surprisingly, Gibraltar third.

The full list is as follows:

  1. Mirage – 0.15
  2. Wraith – 0.12
  3. Gibraltar – 0.11
  4. Caustic – .09
  5. Lifeline – .07
  6. Pathfinder – .06
  7. Bangalore – .06
  8. Octane – .06
  9. Bloodhound – .04

Bloodhound mains, it seems, can feel proud in the knowledge that others like them are the most mature Apex Legends players, though it’s just as likely that his execution simply isn’t particularly noteworthy. On the whole, though, it looks as if executions are a rarely used part of gameplay, so you probably shouldn’t expect Respawn to spend time on new versions for future Battle Passes. That’s effort better spent on new Legendary character and weapon skins.
