Ezio Joins Soul Calibur 5

Namco Bandai Games has announced the guest character for their upcoming fighting game Soul Calibur V and Assassin’s Creed fans will be pleased to learn that Ezio will be joining the lineup.

Soul Calibur V will take place a full seventeen years after the events of the previous game in the series and sees the return of fan favorite characters such as Ivy, Nightmare and Mitsurugi as well as some new characters like Patroklos and Pyrrha, the children of Sophitia Alexandra. The story of the game will revolve around young Patroklos and his family’s intertwining fate with the Soul Swords.

As a guest character, Ezio Auditore will come with all of the goodies that one would expect from a master assassin, including a roman longsword, stiletto, crossbow, hidden gun and his trademark hidden blade.

Along with the announcement of Ezio to the lineup, Namco Bandai also revealed that a collector’s edition of the game will be released and it will include a CD, making-of video content, a hardcover art book and the Dark Knight and White Knight downloadable armor sets for character creation mode.

Soul Calibur always seems to pick some interesting characters to join the lineup. Highlights in the past have included Link, Kratos, Yoda and Darth Vader. Ezio is another great character and he really seems to fit in well with the setting of the game itself. I’m really looking forward to seeing him in action and I can’t wait to get my hands on the game when it releases in January.
