How long has it been now since Final Fantasy XV was confirmed as being in development? Months? Years? Infinity? It certainly feels like the latter option sometimes. However long the wait has been for a proper release date has been, it will finally be over tonight when Square Enix announces it at a special event in Los Angeles at 10pm EST / 3am BST / 7am Pacific.
For those of you intending to watch the entire thing online, Twitch, YouTube and Xbox One will all have their own streams for you to watch at your convenience and, judging by Square Enix’s comments, it’s not something fans will want to miss.
The Japanese studio says there will be “major announcements and surprises,” along with “all kinds of wonderful stuff never seen or heard before!”
The event will be hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller and Tim Gettys at the Shrine Auditorium in LA and, by the sounds of it, will have much more to reveal than just a release date. Here’s hoping for some more Summon reveals, combat demos and perhaps more information on stealth gameplay.
Online publication Gematsu had previously reported that Final Fantasy XV‘s release date was likely to be September 30 worldwide of this year, but here’s to hoping that the actual date is much closer to home.
Just a few hours to go! See you on the other side.
