First Fortnite Season 8 Teaser Image Hints At Pirate Theme

Fortnite has been the king of the battle royale genre almost ever since it first arrived on the market back in 2017. It took that crown from PUBG, but now there's a hot new property in town that may dethrone Epic Games' hit. I'm talking, of course, about Apex Legends, which in just a few weeks has found itself with a huge amount of players, received praise from all sectors of the industry and feels like it's set to revitalize a slightly tired genre.

It took that crown from PUBG, but now there’s a hot new property in town that may dethrone Epic Games’ hit. But Epic Games aren’t just going to let Apex Legends walk right in and steal all the thunder. The company’s currently gearing up to kick off Season 8 and it’s expected to be a big one. Granted, we still don’t know very much about it – other than some subtle tweaks which are being made and the fact that planes are being vaulted – but it looks like the developer is finally ready to spill some more details.

Taking to Twitter, Epic has now shared the first teaser image for Fortnite Season 8, which you can see in the gallery down below. It’s not terribly revealing, but it came accompanied with the caption: “X marks the spot, treasure abound, loot that has been lost, can always be found. 4 days until Season 8.”

Clearly, it’s looking like they’re going with a pirate theme here, and with the new season set to begin in just a couple of days, we should be seeing a few more teasers making their way onto the web in no time at all. What exactly this next round of content will bring us, we still can’t say, but as always, you can expect new weekly challenges, map changes, items, weapons, etc.

Again, we’re pretty confident that Season 8 of Fortnite is going to be a big one, especially because Epic needs to compete with Apex Legends now, and as soon as we learn more about what’s coming our way, we’ll be sure to let you know.
