Free Need For Speed Showcase Update Will Add Photo Editor, Wrap Sharing, Customization Options

Although Ghost's Need for Speed reboot didn't end up being as good as we'd hoped, the developer -- and its publishing partners at Electronic Arts -- deserve lots of credit for their DLC model. Although Ghost’s Need for Speed reboot didn’t end up being as good as we’d hoped, the developer – and its publishing partners at Electronic Arts – deserve lots of credit for their DLC model. After all, the game has received at least two sizeable updates, which have added loads of content at no extra charge. There’s another one coming, too, and it has its crosshairs set on February 3rd.

Next Wednesday’s free update – which goes by the name of Showcase – will not only bring with it new customization options, but also a photo editor, wrap sharing feature and new achievements/trophies. It’s said that there will be 100 new customization options in total, but the release also states that eleven different cars have been chosen to receive these new components. They include the Ford Focus RS, BMW M3 E92, Nissan Silva Spec-R and Ford Mustang GT.

What’s going to garner the most interest, though, are the new photo editor and wrap sharing options. Those who like to make their vehicles their own should enjoy sharing their creations with the community and garnering inspiration from others’, and will also be interested to know that license plate backgrounds are also incoming.

Last, but not least, are the achievements and trophies that will be added. They’ve also been revealed, and are, as follows:

Filter Addict – Take a Snapshot with a Filter in Snapshot Pro Mode
Wrap Artist – Share a Wrap with the Need for Speed Community
Climbing the Ranks – Reach Monthly Rank 10 by completing Daily Challenges

Not bad for a free update, huh? It’s also not far away, given that Need for Speed‘s Showcase add-on will become available this coming Wednesday.
