This Is How Gotham City Impostors Customize

Gotham City is always portrayed as being so gloomy and on-edge. In the infamous words of everyone's green-haired clown, The Joker, "Why so serious?" Trying to have some fun in Batman's gothic universe, Monolith Games are trying something absolutely fresh and downright different with Gotham City Impostors - a downloadable title set for release in 2012. As we've previously reported, this one is all about those who dream to be superheroes - or supervillains - taking to the streets for an all-out battle, using different types of weapons such as guns and traps. It's one crazy idea set in a world we'd never think of this type of game belonging in. Though, from what we've seen thus far, the inherent creativity within the idea does fit into the Caped Crusader's world.

A new customization trailer has been released today, for Gotham City Impostors. It not only shows off all of the wacky ways players can play dress up with their personalized character’s costume, but it also gives us a look at some action-packed gameplay.

If you thought that you knew what this game was all about before, you may want to re-think that conclusion, because there’s a ton of new stuff here. Not to mention some hints at Team Fortress-style comedy gameplay, as well as some really over-the-top content.

Watching this footage, I couldn’t help but have a Joker-sized grin on my face. It looks like a lot of fun, even if it’s not the most visceral video game ever made. This one will be on my radar for months to come.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think, while you try to wipe that smirk off your face.
