A Tweet sent out from the Official Hotline Miami Twitter feed has confirmed that Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is shooting for a third quarter 2014 release. The Dennaton Games developed sequel was first announced back in June 2013 and will be hitting the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Linux, Mac and PlayStation Vita.

As the next entry in the absurdly violent shooter franchise, Hotline Maimi 2: Wrong Number will continue the story of Jacket following his killing spree against the Russian mob. Part of the game will place you into the shoes of an actor acting out the events of the first film for a movie, while another part of the game will focus on the cult-like fans of Jacket who wish to follow in his bloody footsteps.

The original Hotline Miami was one of my favorite titles of 2012, so I’m eagerly anticipating stepping into the neon-soaked world of the series once again. I’m quite interested in the plot this time around, too, which seems like it will be toying with players’ expectations much more than the original entry did. Of course, the main thing I’m looking forward to with Hotline Miami 2 is another dose of that amazing 1980’s influenced soundtrack that was so integral to the original title.

We will continue to have coverage of Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number in the lead-up to its third quarter release. Are you interested in exploring 1980’s Miami once more? Let us know in the comments section below.
