Dennaton Games’ original Hotline Miami will be coming to the PlayStation 4 sometime later this year, according to Devolver Digital’s Nigel Lowrie, who revealed the news during an interview with Destructoid at last week’s GDC.

Devolver Digital and Dennaton Games originally worked together to release Hotline Miami back in 2012 for the Windows PC and would later release the title for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2013. The PlayStation 4 version of the game will feature cross-buy support so that you can take the game on to go with you on the Vita.

While no release date for Hotline Miami on the PlayStation 4 has been revealed yet, one should probably expect it to come before the game’s sequel launches later this year. Currently shooting for a third quarter 2014 release date, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was already announced as a PS4 title and it would be a little odd if the first game in the series released after the sequel.

Personally, I was a huge fan of Hotline Miami when I originally played it on the PC, but I never had the chance to experience the title on the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita. In order to refresh myself with the mechanics of the series before the sequel comes out, it may be in my best interest to seek out this PlayStation 4 port when it becomes available.

If you haven’t had a chance to experience the madness of this game yet, I highly suggest you download it for your gaming platform of choice. If you’re not offended by over the top violence, that is.
