Crowdfunded through Kickstarter, Whispering Willows is a 2D puzzle adventure, with a dark, horror-tinged story. Taking place over the course of five chapters, the title places gamers into the shoes of Elena Elkhorn. Looking to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of her father, Elena travels to the Willows mansion in search of answers. Using the power of her magical amulet, Elena must interact with the spirits of the dead in order to solve the mystery.

David Sterling, managing director of publisher LOOT Interactive, offered up his thoughts on the unique release.

Whispering Willows is a captivating adventure that embodies the kind of memorable, challenging gameplay we want LOOT to become known for. We love the original gameplay, hand-painted artwork and compelling story that Whispering Willows offers and we’re thrilled to kick off LOOT Interactive’s summer release schedule with such a unique title.

Released to solid reviews, I’m interested in several aspects of Night Light Interactive’s Gothic adventure. The colorful 2D artwork serves as a great counterbalance to the dark narrative, and with the 1080p digital remastering done for the this re-release, it’s sure to really pop on the TV.

For those that haven’t already experienced it, will you be picking up Whispering Willows when it launches later today? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
