We’ve seen a common trend in gaming lately, where people are buying games solely for multiplayer. Sony has recognized it as well, and is attempting to offer those folks a deal that they cannot refuse.

Starting Tuesday, the entire multiplayer offering found in retail copies of Killzone 3 will be available on the PlayStation Network. A free download will be provided, but users will have to pay $14.99 to continue playing once they get to a certain level cap.

This move makes complete sense, and I feel that we may start seeing it done with other games. While I’m more of a single player gamer than anything, quality multiplayer is never a bad thing, right?
