Latest Destiny: Rise Of Iron Patch Reveals New Ornaments And Seasonal Items Ahead Of Release

As of this week, Destiny has reached a crucial point in its life cycle. Since the release of the open-world shooter's Rise of Iron expansion last month, Bungie has been steadily releasing small, bite-sized updates to the core content introduced with the add-on in an effort to keep players satisfied and - more importantly - occupied until Destiny 2 finally touches down next year.

The arrival yesterday of the Heroic Mode for Rise of Iron‘s Wrath of the Machine raid will no doubt help somewhat in doing that, but is that, along with everything else, enough to last an entire year?

Probably not, but Bungie’s not done just yet. We already knew that last year’s Festival of the Lost and Sparrow Racing League events would be returning for a second round this year, and it looks like the former is the first one making a comeback. As of yesterday’s patch, a bunch of new weapon ornaments and masks were discovered in the game’s database, and while Bungie says none of the new items will be available until the event starts proper, a few images have now surfaced (via VG247).

It appears that Bad Juju, The Last Word, Red Death, Thorn and Black Spindle will all receive their own Ornament customization when the event kicks off, one of which you can see below.

Whether or not these will obtained in much the same way as existing Ornaments (random drops from Radiant Treasures which can be acquired both in-game and with real money) remains to be seen, but judging by the above, they certainly fit the Halloween theme. As of now, it’s unclear whether the new items will be obtainable once the event ends, but we imagine Bungie won’t want to lock access to such items behind time-restricted events.

Expect to find out more when Bungie publishes its weekly update.
