Hot on the heels of yesterday’s revelation that the threequel would contain no less than 200 hours of content, CD Projekt Red has debuted yet another gameplay trailer for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt that provides us with a better understanding of Geralt of Rivia’s quest.

Referred to as The White Wolf among the folk of Novigrad, our protagonist is one of the few remaining Witchers in the land, harbouring the supernatural ability to slay the fiercest and most grotesque beasts around. But it isn’t long before Geralt must use his powers to seek out and rescue Cirilla – a character fans of the series will no doubt regonize from previous iterations.

Also buried within this trailer is our first full look at the character that Charles Dance (Game of Thrones‘ devious Tywin Lannister) lends his dulcet tones to, and it appears it is he who kicks of this cross-country fantasy adventure in the first place.

Following a trio of extensive delays, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is now easing toward the finish line. During the prolonged development window, CD Projekt Red has been experimenting with a range of novel features that may make it into the final product. Chief among those is the excruciating “Insanity” difficulty mode, which would turn the sprawling, open-world RPG into a roguelike by jettisoning players back to the very beginning upon every death — yikes! Certainly a mode for the super hardcore.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 19, 2015. Until then, tell us, are you looking forward to the conclusive chapter in Geralt’s story? Let us know below.
