During this past weekend’s PAX 2014 show, Keiji Inafune debuted brand new footage from his highly anticipated new title, Mighty No. 9. Successfully backed through Kickstarter, the spiritual successor to Mega Man is currently set to launch in April 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC.

Coming from a more complete version of the game, this footage features a variety of new levels and also showcases some of the unique boss battles set to be included. In the clip, we see protagonist Beck blast his way through a city in chaos, a world covered in ice and across a speeding highway. At the tail end of the footage, Beck faces off against Mighty No. 3, No. 6 and No. 7, each with their own unique locations.

Considering the fact that the title is still several months away, this footage from Mighty No. 9 is, well, mighty impressive. Based off what we have seen, it appears to be shaping up to be the Mega Man-successor fans have wanted, but Capcom have been reluctant to deliver. However, with Inafune spearheading the development here, this should be one of the better original titles to come in 2015.

We will continue to have coverage of Mighty No. 9 in the lead-up to its 2015 launch. While we wait for new information to be released, however, why not take a peak at the recently released footage and let us know what you think about it in the comments section below.
