Despite its relative unbelievability, the cardboard box has remained an effective tool for Snake to use throughout the Metal Gear Solid franchise. While we knew the box was making a return in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, we now have a greater idea of what Snake can do with it.

In this latest trailer, which debuted at Sony’s Gamescom 2014 presentation, a narrator explains what the handy cardboard box will be capable of this time around. As per usual, Snake will be able to sneak around in his trusty box and take down enemies in a quick and efficient fashion. New to Metal Gear Solid V, though, is the ability for Snake to silence foes with a quickshot, as well as the ability to use items from within its confines.

The most notable addition to the box, though, is its new decoy abilities. Snake will be able to display an image of an enemy soldier on the box, which will draw actual enemies over, thinking they are allies. Other images that can be used for a decoy include a half-naked woman, which will stop enemies in their tracks in order to oogle. From there, Snake can either beat them down, or easily sneak past them.

In the wake of all the controversy that surrounded the plot of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, I’m glad to see Kojima and company haven’t fully lost their sense of humor. Besides, it wouldn’t be an entry in the Metal Gear Solid franchise if it didn’t feature some sort of cardboard box related shenanigans.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is currently scheduled for release in 2015 and will launch for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
