The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Launching March 3rd Alongside Nintendo Switch

Nintendo officially announced that the latest game in the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, will be launching March 3rd alongside its new console, the Nintendo Switch. The announcement came on the heels of the brand new trailer above, which showcases more of the story elements in the game — probably the most neglected aspect in previous trailers — along with the revelation that this will be the first title in the series to feature full voice acting.

The game’s launch coming alongside the new system was revealed (albeit in an unconfirmed state) earlier today when some of UK retailer GAME’s promotional materials leaked, and runs counter to a longstanding rumor that suggested Nintendo might not be able to make the latest Zelda title come to the system in time for the Switch’s debut.

The game’s gorgeous new trailer really has to be seen to be believed, but needless to say it shows several incarnations of beloved characters and races from past entries — from the titular princess herself, to a strong and bearded Goron, to one of those horrifying giantess Great Fairies that made their debut in the N64 classic Ocarina of Time, it seems the massive open world will have no shortage of colorful characters to battle and befriend.
