The popular LEGO Star Wars series of games, which is developed by Traveler’s Tales published by Lucasarts, has just had its lifespan extended. It was recently confirmed that Lucasfilm & The LEGO Group renewed their joint licensing deal, allowing the lucrative toy/video game crossover to continue production for at least another decade.

The Lego Star Wars series has had three major console releases, each focusing on different parts of the series’ mythos. The initial 2005 game featured levels based on the newer prequel trilogy, while the 2006 sequel focused on the original three films. Then, last year’s third entry was based on the Clone Wars cartoon currently airing on Cartoon Network.
