Allison Road developer Lilith Ltd has reiterated via the game’s official Facebook page that the indie studio has split from UK studio Team17 after only a short period that saw the two studios join together in an effort to collaborate on the horror title.

Originally starting life as a Kickstarter, the crowdfunding campaign was pulled midway when it was confirmed Lilith was partnering with the Worms creator for additional resources and support. However, earlier this month, a statement released on Lilith’s Twitter page said:

Hi all. Sadly Allison Road had to be cancelled. Statement to come in the next few days. Thx for all your support and very sad it came 2 this.

It may have taken a little longer than a “few days” to clear up the situation, but Lilith has said on Facebook that:

“After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label,” further adding that “sometime[s] things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity… We’d like to especially thank everyone for their support through-out, it has and will always be appreciated.”

We know what you’re thinking and no, this doesn’t really clear up what exactly happened to cause the cancellation, nor does this most recent statement actually make any mention of Allison Road being cancelled indefinitely. Chances are we’ll never know the full facts, but with any luck, Team17 may provide their own comment on the subject.
