LittleBigPlanet 2 Cross-Controller Pack Now Available

It's been a busy year for the LittleBigPlanet series. With both a handheld entry and a racing game released in past months, one would think that Sony didn't have any more time to create more material for the popular platforming franchise. Thankfully, this is not the case, as a new downloadable content pack is now available for LittleBigPlanet 2.

It’s been a busy year for the LittleBigPlanet series. With both a handheld entry and a racing game released in past months, one would think that Sony didn’t have any more time to create more material for the popular platforming franchise. Thankfully, this is not the case, as a new downloadable content pack is now available for LittleBigPlanet 2.

The new DLC is titled the Cross-Controller Pack, and requires a PS Vita to play. The premade levels within the pack make use of the Vita as a controller, and mix up the gameplay to take advantage of the second touch screen the handheld provides. Players can also expect a boatload of goodies to go along with the pack, including five new costumes for Sackboy, new level-creating tools that include full Vita support for users to make their own dual-screen levels, and plenty of objects, materials, decorations, stickers, and other objects to customize levels and characters even further.

Notable gameplay enhancements include the Worm Hole feature, which serves as an ingame teleportation tool for transporting Sackboy to a different location or even to the Vita screen. Players can expect new tutorials for every new tool, narrated as always by the charming voice of Stephen Fry.

The Cross-Controller Pack requires a PS3, a PS Vita, and a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 to function. It is available now on the North American PlayStation Store for $4.99, with an international release scheduled for later today. A promotional trailer can be viewed below.
