Starting on June 14th, Lucas will be available to download for both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros., joining fellow MOTHER 3 co-star Ness. The fighter is the second DLC character to return from previous games, the first being Mewtwo – who was a free download for those who owned both versions of the all-star brawler.

This will mark Lucas’ seond appearance in the series, and if his abilities in Super Smash Bros. Brawl are anything to go by, you can expect the blonde-haired boy to have a rather elemental arsenal under his belt. Similar to Ness, Lucas’ innocent-looking appearance belies his Psycho Kinetic (or PK, for short) abilities that let him electrocute, burn and freeze anyone that looks at him the wrong way.

Lucas isn’t the only new content coming next week, either. Coinciding with the new character release, owners of the game can also download Splatoon-themed accessories and outfits for shooter type fighters. Additionally, an ‘Inkling Squid’ hat will be compatible with all characters.

Tell us, what are your thoughts on this news? Is Lucas the character you’ve been waiting for to appear in Super Smash Bros., or are there others we’ve yet to see that you’d rather have first? Let us know in the comments below.
