Little Mac Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS

Today's Nintendo Direct stream kicked off with the announcement of a familiar Nintendo character making their Super Smash Bros. debut in the upcoming fourth entry. The character this time around is none other than Little Mac from the Punch-Out!! series, who, being a pro boxer, seems like a natural fit for a fighting game. He joins Rosalina and Luma, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, and the Villager as the fifth confirmed character making their first appearance in the Wii U and 3DS games, currently scheduled for release sometime this year.

Today’s Nintendo Direct stream kicked off with the announcement of a familiar Nintendo character making their Super Smash Bros. debut in the upcoming fourth entry. The character this time around is none other than Little Mac from the Punch-Out!! series, who, being a pro boxer, seems like a natural fit for a fighting game. Receiving his own promotional trailer that shows him training with his familiar mentor Doc, Little Mac looks like he will make use of traditional fighting techniques like uppercuts and counters, as well as somehow incorporate his own game’s power meter into charging up certain attacks for extra damage. His Final Smash will also allow him to transform into the more powerful Giga Mac, seen in the multiplayer mode of the Wii Punch-Out!! title.

The trailer and accompanying screenshots for Little Mac can be viewed below. We will keep you updated on more news regarding Super Smash Bros. as it drops. In the meantime, let us know how you feel about the familiar boxer’s confirmation in the comments section.
