Telling the story of Kuma, whose family was murdered by Afro himself, Afro Samurai 2 is a tale of revenge. Not only that, but one that is inspired by Japanese manga. So, as you can expect, it’s shaping up to be both a bloody and artistically unique affair.

Sadly, however, this first look is nothing more than a cutscene-based trailer, which offers no gameplay whatsoever. Hopefully in-game footage won’t be far behind, but you can rest assured that we’ll be going hands on with the game while we’re in LA next week.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma is expected to launch this summer, on current-gen consoles and PC, and rumours suggest that it’ll be a two-parter.
